Estate

An estate well taken care of

A family member or close friend has passed away. There are all kinds of things that need to be taken care of, but you’re up to none of it. Administering an estate is the responsibility of the heirs. But it’s not just a complicated job; it’s time-consuming as well. Your notary helps you arrange the administration of an estate.

Administration of an estate by your notary

First of all, it’s important to know if there is a will. We can check for a will in the Central Will Registry. If we don’t find a will then the law will determine who inherits. The deceased may have appointed an executor, who will have to arrange the funeral service and the administration of the estate. Only when all debts have been paid off, can the inheritance be divided up. As an heir, you are responsible for both the deceased’s possessions and debts. Your notary can help you decide whether you accept this inheritance, accept it with reservations, or reject it.
