Setting up an association or foundation

Almost every day, associations and foundations are being set up. In the field of culture, sports, health and charity. People try to reach a communal goal with their union or foundation. But do you always need to visit a notary when setting up an association or foundation?

Setting up an association at your notary

Setting up an association doesn’t always require a visit to the notary office. A verbal agreement between two people will suffice. But the way you set up the association has consequences for liability. For full legal rights, you do have to found your association at the notary office. We will also help you set up the statutes..

Setting up a foundation at your notary

A foundation can only be set up by means of a notarial deed. The foundation’s board has to visit a notary for this. The name, registered office, and the foundation’s goal is recorded, among other things. Your notary will draft the statues for your foundation and will make sure that the board is recorded in the trade register.

Altering the statues of an existing association or foundation can also be take care of at your notary.
